Gina Bertone is an Enrolled Agent and is the president and founder of GMJ CONSULTING, LLC, which she established in 2015. She has a Master’s Degree in Accounting with more than 30 years of public accounting experience. This included working as a Chief Financial Officer of a local restaurant chain. Her expertise covers bank reconciliations and tax preparation for corporations and personal returns.

A Message From Gina
Since the start of my internship many years ago, I always knew I wanted to own my own accounting firm. I also knew I had to learn as much as I could through years of working as a public accountant in order to achieve this goal. I asked questions and tried to learn about every aspect of accounting.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Taxation and decided to go for a master’s degree in Accounting. I also have my IRS Enrolled Agent designation. I am also a certified estate planner (CEP®). During this process, I worked full-time at a public accounting firm and went to classes in the evening. It was hard work but worth it.
After many years at a public accounting firm, I had hit a plateau. I was never going to be any higher in this firm, never going to learn more than I had after years of working there. I had to make a decision: spend 30 years doing the same thing or fulfilling my dream of business ownership.
I got an opportunity to be CFO of a local restaurant chain. This was the beginning of the transition into my own firm. I branched off from the firm I worked for, shared office space, still working for the firm and grew my practice, to now working solely for myself. During this time, I met Jacqueline A. Valentic.
Through GMJ CONSULTING, LLC, I am so happy and honored to be a part of this community and continue to work hard to become a known staple in this town. I find it so incredibly important to have not only a working relationship with all my clients but also a personal relationship. I was a big member of the community with my other firm and hope to be just as much of a presence here.
